I want to write. I want to make a living writing - fiction, and non-fiction. And I want to share all the writing resources I find. This is my writing blog. Simple as that.

NaNoWriMo - the month of craziness, insanity, tiny ups, and plummetting downs. Week 4, and only 4 days to go before I’m out of this hell hole.

I’m not so sure. It’s day 23, 7 official days to go, but I’m more aware of trying to get the darned novel finished completely before the date the NaNoWriMo full wordcount feature is opened [...]

I Won! And the verifier onsite even added an additional 1000 words which I must have miscounted.
11 Chapters, 34 Scenes, 104,000 words later, and I’ve won my first ever NaNoWriMo.

The eleventh of the eleventh, in UK terms, a day of rememberance. Ashamedly, I forgot, and carried on writing at eleven o’clock this morning.
I’ve added 5800 words today, and another two scenes. A total of 45,767, so only a day or so away from that first goal, but only a third of the way through [...]

We interupt this broadcast - to do some research. I guess the weekend’s mammoth effort of putting down 5000 words a day tapped me out for a while. I managed to finish off the chapter and scene I’d been working on yesterday, but can’t find the motivation to go onto the next one.

5 hours (okay - more), and almost 7000 more words. I tried to get another full chapter under my belt today, three scenes. But by mid-afternoon, I was struggling. Now, at 5:30, I’ve missed out on a lot for a Sunday, and have to give it up, to give my head a bit of a [...]

Saturday, the second Saturday. In between fixing some plumbing problems, and delivering my daughter to a birthday party, I added on another 5000 words.
Total now - just over 30,000, 64% of the goal target.

Statistics and Damned Lies
My session timing on writing today shows five hours spent. My wordcount for the day shows 5800 words, taking my total to 24,672.
That’s 50% of my target goal of 50,000 words. All in only a week. I should be jumping for joy, I should be celebrating.
