Blogging, Writing Juiced

Previously I had an “What’s Happened Today” at the top of this page. But now I don’t need to do that, as I have discovered Twitter Tools for Wordpress. As a plugin, it allows you to both write your posts from a Wordpress blog up to Twitter, and post daily or individual updates from Twitter (your Tweets) onto your blog.

I have also set it up to provide regular tweets through my sidebar, and a daily post of all tweets onto a blog post. As I’m a regular twitter user, that’s an easier way for any readers to see everything as it takes place, or in summary form, especially as my other blogs are setup to post to Twitter also, on posting.

For the posting of blog posts to Twitter, I use another online tool called TwitterFeed. This requires an OpenID to logon, but it can post blog posts from their RSS feed. Twitter Tools would do this for me, here on a Wordpress blog, but doesn’t do it for others. As I own a Squarespace blog also, TwitterFeed keeps all my posts for each blog going. But if you have just got the one blog – a Wordpress one, and are capable of loading up simple plugins, then I would recommend the Twitter Tools.

My other work can be found with daily posts from Diigo of any links I may have documented during the day. Together, the daily updates from Diigo and Twitter mean you have a regular look into other areas of my life. This leaves me with an announcement post at the top of the page, which I creatively called “Top of the Page” and which will be regularly swapped for different announcements. Stay tuned, as eventually I’ll be promoting my own Ultimate Guide via the Top of the Page post.
