Right, something a little personal. In the Blog Mastermind course we are told that it’s okay to ask our readers for comments. It’s possibly not meant in this way – outright begging – but I’m always one to break rules.
This is a very young blog, and to keep it going (ie. to keep me motivated in writing it) it needs a few things -
- Comments (even if you disagree with me, yes really!)
- Backlinks – please link to this blog from your own. Particularly wanted if your content is relevant to this one (ie. writing)
- Subscribers ie regular readers (RSS, email, or maybe one day, a newsletter)
That way, google will one day wake up and notice I exist here on this little bit of the web.
As an incentive for your comments, scroll down to the bottom. There you will see your name lit up in lights (okay, not quite) for the top commenters here on this blog. At the moment we are all coming in at 1 comment per person. This means you’re just browsing on by. See if you can get your count up past 3 over the next week or so.
What do you all get out of this challenge (other than the feel-good satisfaction of making me happy, and seeing your name on this blog)? Actually, I’m not sure. But consider this – if I someday become famous or something and you can tell everyone you were one of the first to comment on my writing blog.
Still not convinced? Yeah, I thought so – but then I’ve noticed (not as a criticism) that many writer’s blogs have few and far comments between them, and normally it’s only a select few friends who make a repetitive appearance onto those blogs. Somehow the act of writing seems to stop at the comments field, and thus showstops conversation. Have a go and prove me wrong. That goes for all you very conversational internet marketers and the like who stop by here also.
